KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Government of Kerala. It facilitates admissions into undergraduate programs including Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, and Medical/Allied courses across institutions in Kerala.

The KEAM entrance test evaluates candidates via a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format with specific structures depending on the chosen discipline.

Exam Pattern

The entrance consists of a single question paper with multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Mathematics: 75 Questions (300 Marks)

Physics: 45 Questions (180 Marks)

Chemistry: 30 Questions (120 Marks)

Incorrect Answer: -1 Mark (Negative Marking)

Eligibility and Selection Process

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Domicile: Kerala natives, or children of non-resident Keralites, typically receive priority for state quotas.

Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and meet minimum aggregate marks, which are generally around 50% in Mathematics and 50% overall for the PCM group

Selection: For most engineering admissions, the final merit ranking is generally calculated with a 50:50 weightage system—50% based on the KEAM entrance score and 50% based on the final normalized marks in the qualifying Class 12 board examinations.
