The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has officially started accepting applications from foreign nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders for admission to its PhD and postgraduate programmes for the 2026–27 academic year (Semester 1). Interested candidates can apply through the institute’s international admissions portal before March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM IST.
Applicants can apply to several postgraduate and research programmes offered across engineering, science, management, and humanities departments, including:
PhD (Doctor of Philosophy)
M.Tech (Master of Technology)
M.S. (Research)
M.Des (Master of Design)
MBA (Master of Business Administration)
MPP (Master of Public Policy)
M.A. (Master of Arts)
Candidates must submit the following during the application process:
Academic transcripts and educational documents
Self-declaration of English language proficiency or scores from tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, or other accepted exams
Contact details of two academic or professional referees for recommendation letters
Statement of Purpose (SoP) and other supporting documents depending on the programme.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for virtual interviews scheduled in May and June 2026. Final admission offers will be based on academic performance, research potential, and interview results.
The institute also provides fellowships and financial assistance for selected candidates:
PhD Fellowship: Around ₹37,000 per month for the first two years and ₹42,000 per month for the next three years.
M.Tech Fellowship: Around ₹12,400 per month with tuition fee reimbursement.
On-campus accommodation may also be provided depending on availability.
International applicants are advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria and complete the application process before the deadline to secure admission for the upcoming academic session.
