Established on November 28, 2016, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU) is a public institution located in the Anjanthali village of Nilokheri sub-district, Karnal, Haryana. The university was founded by the Government of Haryana to advance education, research, and development in the field of horticulture. MHU offers postgraduate and doctoral programs in horticulture, providing students with comprehensive training and learning experiences. Admissions are based on entrance tests conducted by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. The main campus is situated on 97 acres of land in Anjanthali village, transferred from the Regional Research Station of CCS Haryana Agricultural University. Additionally, MHU operates regional research stations in Ambala, Jind, and Jhajjar districts, facilitating extensive research and outreach activities. In collaboration with the United Kingdom, the university is establishing a regional cold chain center in Karnal, aiming to enhance the infrastructure for perishable horticultural produce. Furthermore, MHU participates in initiatives like the International Terminal Market for Fruits and Vegetables in Ganaur, Sonepat district, and the Domestic NCR Flower Market in Gurugram, promoting the marketing and distribution of horticultural products.
