Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a public university established in 2008 by the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Named in honor of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, AUD is dedicated to promoting equity and social justice through education.
AUD operates as a unitary, non-affiliating university with a primary focus on undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies in the humanities and social sciences. The university is organized into multiple schools and centers, each specializing in various academic disciplines. Schools include School of Undergraduate Studies, School of Development Studies, School of Global Affairs, School of Human Ecology, School of Human Studies, School of Culture and Creative Expressions, School of Design, School of Business, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship, School of Educational Studies, School of Law, Governance and Citizenship, School of Liberal Studies, and School of Vocational Studies. AUD has been accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
As of 2022, AUD has a student population of approximately 2,979, comprising 1,509 undergraduates, 1,300 postgraduates, and 170 doctoral candidates. The university employs around 168 faculty members, fostering a supportive and engaging academic environment.
