National Research Center on Pomegranate, Solapur, established in 2005, is India’s premier institute dedicated exclusively to pomegranate research under the approval of ICAR. Situated 12 km from Solapur city on the Solapur‑Pune highway, the center has gained national recognition for its pioneering research, commercialization of superior pomegranate hybrids, and innovations in value‑added products. With accolades such as the Vasantrao Naik Award and ISO‑9001:2015 certification, NRCP continues to strengthen India’s agricultural research landscape. The institute provides a vibrant academic environment with modern laboratories, classrooms equipped with AV aids, a seed processing pilot plant, and meteorological units. NRCP actively supports training programs, internships with Farmer Producer Organizations, and Ph.D. scholars through ICAR fellowships.
