BITS Design School, established in 2024, is a prestigious institution located in the vibrant suburb of Powai, Mumbai. Founded by the renowned Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, the school offers a world-class design education aimed at nurturing future-ready leaders. Currently operating from a modern interim campus, BITS Design School plans to transition to a 63-acre residential campus in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by early 2025, providing students with a cutting-edge infrastructure that includes air-conditioned classrooms, digital labs, collaborative workspaces, wellness facilities, and a fully residential setup for an immersive learning experience. The school offers a comprehensive four-year Bachelor of Design (Honours) program with five specializations: Physical Product Design, Digital Product Design (UI/UX), Human-Centered Design, Experience Design, and Visual Design. Admissions are based on entrance exams such as NID-DAT, UCEED, BITSAT, or BITSDES, followed by a portfolio review. The institute also provides merit-based scholarships, including the Chancellor’s Scholarship (100%) and Merit & Means-based Scholarships (up to 75%). The first-year tuition fee is approximately ₹7.35 lakh, with an additional ₹3 lakh for hostel fees annually.
